Arriving at the Island
When you arrive on the island, we will be there to meet the boat with our Hideaway ute. Once you’ve disembarked the ferry please ensure you put your luggage on the correct ute so your bags can be driven up to the resort. If you haven’t visited the island before, please do not hesitate to ask our friendly greet staff for directions. It is only a short stroll up to the path that runs along to the reception area.
You’ve booked online and have yet to receive any confirmation. Please do not panic, our reception staff have to manually retrieve card information and charge your 50% deposit from online bookings. During particularly busy periods, you may not receive your confirmation letter straight away but do not worry, you’ll get looked after!
Check is at 2pm however, we do endeavor to get all guests into their room as soon as possible. If your room is vacant the night before, we allow guests to head straight down, however in busy periods and in the more popular room types, our house-keeping team work as quickly and efficiently as possible to get rooms turned around after the 10am check out.
Here on Great Keppel Island we do run off bore water so you’re unable to drink the tap water in your room. Guests are provided with two 1.5lt bottles of drinking water per day, for making tea/coffee and drinking. There is always drinking water available in the bar & bistro area and additional water is available for purchase if required.
There is not a grocery store on Great Keppel Island so if you are planning to self-cater, you will need to bring everything you require over on the ferry. We can sell basic things such as bread and milk, however this is subject to availability and mostly dependently on our delivery days. The rainbow hut also sells some dry produce, drinks and snacks, but all fresh fruit/vegetables will be to be purchased from the mainland.
There is no ATM on the island, so please ensure you have plenty of cash for all your holiday extras and needs. We do accept eftpos, as do both ferry services and GKI Adventures for activities. Keppel Water Sports are a cash only business so for tube rides/hire gear please keep that in mind.
In-house guests are able to room charge for drinks and snacks at the bar, as well as any meals if they are not on a meal package. This is payable on check out in reception.
