The Peter Blundell Memorial Talent Search showcases emerging independent artists, honoring Peter Blundell’s legacy as a strong supporter of new talent.

Eligibility
Independent Status: Entrants must be independent artists. You may have previously released music independently, but must not currently be signed to a major label.
No Major Talent Search Wins: Entrants must not have previously won any major Australian talent search competitions, including but not limited to:
- Toyota Star Maker
- Gympie Muster Talent Search
- Ekka Country Music Showdown

Event Details
Festival Participation: Entrants must be available to attend the festival on the designated dates: 21 and 22 November 2025
Workshop Attendance: Finalists are required to attend a mandatory pre-event workshop held on the same day as the Talent Search. This workshop will take place at 11:00 AM or 12:00 PM and will be hosted by two Golden Guitar-winning artists.
Talent Search Performance: The main Talent Search event will be held at 3:00 PM on the same day as the workshop. Finalists must be ready and prepared to perform at this time.
Logistics
Travel & Accommodation: All finalists are responsible for arranging and covering their own travel and accommodation for the duration of the festival and Talent Search event.
Performance Requirements: Finalists may be required to perform one or more songs live. Backing tracks are permitted only if pre-approved by the event organizers.
Original Material Encouraged: While covers are allowed, artists are strongly encouraged to perform original material to showcase their artistry.
Media & Promotion
By entering, participants consent to being photographed, filmed, or recorded during the event for promotional purposes.
The organizers reserve the right to use entrants’ names, likenesses, and submitted materials for promotional and archival use, without compensation.
Judging
The decision of the judging panel is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Judges will assess artists based on originality, vocal and musical ability, stage presence, and overall performance.
Disqualification
The organizers reserve the right to disqualify any entrant who:
- Fails to meet eligibility requirements
- Does not attend the workshop or performance
- Misrepresents their artist status
- Engages in conduct deemed unprofessional or inappropriate
